For more than 15 years, the Osgood Center has committed to training the next generation of global leaders. The Osgood Center believes in the power of education to provide future professionals the knowledge and practical experience to engage in global dialogue. Model United Nations is an academic simulation that offers ideal conditions for them to broaden their expertise and to learn tools for such engagement.
Whether you seek to strengthen your diplomatic skills, deepen your knowledge on global issues, or connect with other students, OSMUN 2021 will provide you the opportunity to learn from other delegates while you discuss today’s most important global issues.
Osgood Center programs have brought together students from all around the world in its Model United Nations conferences which have inspired the creation of similar programs in various high schools and universities globally.
Now, the Osgood Center is proud to invite participants to OSGOOD MODEL UN 2021 (OSMUN 2021) which will be held on Zoom February 5-6, 2021. The Osgood Center hosted its first Model UN conference in 2003 in Washington DC. Since 2007, the Osgood Center has partnered with the National Collegiate Conference Association (NCCA) to co-host National Model United Nations-DC (MUN-DC) each fall. In 2019 Osgood conducded a 325 delegate Model UN at the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia
Security Council Chair
Xuan Zhu graduated from University of Pittsburgh in 2014 as a master of Public Administration with two majors: Policy Research and Analysis as well as Energy and Environment. Before that he graduated from China Foreign Affairs University in 2011 with a bachelor degree of laws, majoring in Diplomacy and International Affairs. His current interest lies in Asian Development as well as energy and environment issues.
Prior to the graduate school, Xuan has quite a few interesting working experiences. His background includes working as an intern editor for Xinhua News Agency, internship in private companies such as Siemens China, part-time translator, and a public servant working on experts and international cooperation in China. He was also a volunteer in the 2008 Olympics and Paralympics.
Xuan has been helping with the Osgood Center since the summer of 2013 and became an assistant director in early 2015. His title was changed to Director of International Programs in 2021.
